What is on second floor in the library? Part 2
On the North Side of Second Floor you will find two collections.
1. SPECIAL COLLECTIONS contains particular materials relating to the history and culture of the Cherokee Indians, other tribes of Oklahoma and the state of Oklahoma, with emphasis on the Northeastern Oklahoma region.
Special Collections houses materials relating to the history and founding of NSU which has roots in early Cherokee education. The books housed in Special Collections are found through the online catalog.
Indexes to the uncataloged materials are available in Special Collections, and staff members are always present to assist those who wish to use the resources in the area.
2. Next to Special Collections you will find, CURRICULUM MATERIALS
Curriculum Materials is located on the second floor and is designed to provide support to the teacher education program. It includes:
sample textbooks (for K-12)
teaching aids
teacher's manuals
tests
kits
curriculum guides
videocassettes
charts
posters
computer disks
sound recordings
No college textbooks or methods books are available in Curriculum Materials.
All materials in the collection (except the current uncataloged Oklahoma Textbook Review Center materials) may be checked out for 21 days. Oklahoma state adopted textbooks are the main part of the collection. Curriculum materials are indexed in the Online Catalog.
