How do I get a Barcode?
Do I need a barcode to access library information?
Library Catalog: To search the library catalog, you don't need any kind of identification. If you want to request a book, you will need your library ID. We scan the barcode on the back of your NSU Riverhawks card in the library. The number for that is usually your social security number with a 2 in front of it. If you are searching the catalog and it asks for an ID number, try this. You can enter your name in any way and then your ID number.
Databases: If you are on any NSU campus, you will not need identification except to logon to computers in the libraries. You should have access to any database unless the link says that you need a password from a librarian. If you are off campus, you will need your NSU userid and password to access library databases. This is not your Blackboard password, it is the userid and password you use to logon to computers on campus.
Illiad: To borrow books from other libraries using Illiad, you establish you own userid and password. You will have to keep track of these after you set up your account.
