Bon Voyage Rachel
Library Technician in Circulation and Reserve and Tahlequah graduate student, Rachel Whittaker leaves this week for a semester of study in Wales.
Rachel says "I will be attending Swansea University and taking courses in the American Studies program. Laugh if you like - going overseas to study Americans. But I am in the American Studies graduate program here and would like to see how other cultures explain us. As of yet, I have been unable to choose my courses, but I do know I will be taking an Introduction to British Culture and Politics upon arrival
in Wales. I would also like to take the Welsh language if possible."
She was recently awarded a scholarship from the Brad Henry International Scholar Program for the Semester of Study Abroad. Whitaker was one of only 12 recipients in Oklahoma this year to receive this prestigious scholarship.
We will miss Rachel and welcome her back in the spring semester to the John Vaughan Library with exciting stories to tell.
