Services For Distance Education
The John Vaughan Library believes in providing services to all students, faculty, and staff regardless of their location. Library services may differ from regular services, but attempt to be the equivalent. The library has prepared a policy statement concerning services to distance education students.
Definition of distance learning:
The library defines distance learning as either synchronous or asynchronous offered away from the three main campuses in traditional or nontraditional format. These services are offered to all people involved in distance education including enrolled students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
Some Resources we offer:
Blackboard–logon access
Technical assistance–Microcomputing Help Service, Webhelp@nsuok.edu
Librarians–answer questions about research or using library materials.
Instruction– online tutorials and librarians.
Circulation– information about loan periods and policies.
E Reserve– access to electronic articles placed on Reserve by faculty.
Document Delivery–sends NSU books or articles via
snail mail, fax, or email.
Interlibrary Loan–arranges for materials not available at the NSU Library.
About the Library–includes directions to the NSU Library, maps of the building, and hours.

Library Catalog– index to books, electronic books, government publications, and audio visuals available at the NSU Library.
Additional Library Catalogs– access to other local library catalogs.
Databases– a subject listing of databases that provide subject access to journals, magazines, and newspapers. Includes access to full text electronic journals. To access, use your NT password and userid. (Get NT password and userid).
EJournals–title index of journals available in full text.
