What is Metafind and How do I use it?
Metafind (http://library.nsuok.edu/) is a search engine that searches for words in several of our databases. It can search for a unique term and find it in most of our paid databases.
You might want to search all of the business databases at one time instead of one at a time.
There are drawbacks to using Metafind.
- It takes longer than usual to perform the search. It searches each database and then returns the top 10 items found in each one.
- The keyword can be anywhere in the item, so you may not find the best articles without doing the advanced search.
- The results can be confusing. You will get results from the first database to finish and then from each other database.
You can filter your search after the first search to narrow your results. If you are off campus, you can perform the search and only need to identify yourself when you request an article.
Try Metafind and see what you think.
